Stafford Real Estate

For many, Stafford was considered as a “crossroads” of sorts. From Civil War soldiers to Pocahontas, to our nation's first President, George Washington, each has walked the ground we currently call Stafford, Virginia. Like Fredericksburg, its neighbor to the South, the area's history is a rich one. But, so is its current popularity, cited in 2005 as one of Money magazine's top places to live in the U.S. And, that's borne out by its notoriety as the Commonwealth's second fastest growing county.

Stafford Homes

Available Stafford home styles include large Estates, planned Single Family home subdivisions with spacious common areas, Townhomes, Condominiums, and rolling country farms. Many planned communities are crafted to include common amenities like a community center, swimming pool, playground and walking and biking paths. Most Stafford real estate isn't far from county areas dedicated to recreational facilities for its residents. These facilities include local YMCA's, baseball and soccer fields, basketball and tennis courts, and public swimming pools.

Stafford county's economic development and plentiful job opportunities was cited in a Forbes, February 2008 article highlighting it as one of our nation's “Best Places to Get Ahead.” According to the article, “Stafford County has a proven ability to land federal jobs and companies with federal contracts, as well as to attract businesses from all over the country, due largely to business incentives. A friendly tax and regulatory environment has also helped boost the county's median income by 27% since 2000, and jobs have increased by almost 6% a year over the same period of time.” The combination of pro-growth, top notch schools, fine restaurants, beautiful parks, championship golf courses, and Stafford housing opportunities make the county a very attractive place to live.

Stafford Points of Interest

Potomac Point Winery. Since its opening in July of 2007, it has gotten rave reviews like these:

“This has to be the best kept secret in all of Stafford. Its a bit off of the beaten path so does not have the exposure that it truly deserves. We went a couple of weeks ago and had a great time during the wine tasting. They have a surprisingly good selection of Virginia wines and seem to be pretty knowledgeable on them. The building and grounds themselves are just beautiful. You get the feeling that you are in Tuscany.”

“Beautiful scenery. Beautiful estate. Beautiful decor. The theme reminded us of an Italian villa and there was a nice variety of wines. The wine tasting prices varied from $5 to $15 and you get to keep the wine glass. They also had a vast selection of wine accessories and even dog toys!) Dogs are welcome and they even had a play area for kids! The outside dining courtyard was very nice with a water fountain in the middle. And the ballroom for wedding receptions was gorgeous. They have on-site catering as well for small wedding parties and rehearsal dinners. They even have a proposal tower! They have a private room in back as well.
It's hidden away in Stafford but a jewel was found off of I-95.”

Stafford Marketplace. The Marketplace is an 800,000-square-foot retail center located off Interstate 95 at State Route 610. Its stores include Kohl's, Target, Lowe's, Shopper's World, Panera Bread, and Chili's, among others.

Riverside Dinner Theater. The Riverside Center opened on June 18th, 1998 with the dinner theater's inaugural performance of Oklahoma! Since then Riverside Center has been the site of over 20 different Main-Stage, Broadway-quality Musical productions, to include different musical adaptations of popular children's stories. These are part of the Riverside's ongoing Children's Theater.
This is a impressive local dinner theater whose performances are excellent, and whose dinner menu is appetizing as well.
